This section will hopefully assist you in selecting which style of case best suits the application.

The images shown below have been produced directly from our Solid Edge systems and are actual assembly models that our technical design team use when producing the proposed case.  You will see the different case styles and their associated title, or case type.   They don’t however, indicate a particular specification (ie Tour Grade, Industrial etc.).  It merely helps to identify the case layout with respect of position of handles, catches, castors and overall design of lids etc.   All the images shown must be taken as a guide only.

Obviously a popular design style, used for most general purpose case layouts and usually carried as a briefcase

Pilot Case

As the title explains, based on the familiar style used by airline pilots. This style also finds many other uses

Hand Trunk

Similar to ‘Case’, but usually deeper and a two handed carry.

Trunk

Trunk

General purpose trunk is a popular choice for many applications. Position and quantity of handles can vary to suit individual requirements.
- Hinged or Removable Lid
- Catches to front (& Rear)
- Handle to each end

Top-Hat Trunk

Top Hat Trunk

Used for larger or heavy equipment to assist removal from a low split base. Again, position and number of handles can vary.
  - Removable Large Lid
- Catches to front & Rear
- Handles to each end (or, all round)

Combination Trunk

A split bodied trunk particularly suited to housing two pieces of equipment, one in the base and one above (on a false base).
  - Removable Lid & Mid Section

Split Lid Trunk

Split Lid Trunk

Used for taller or heavy equipment to assist removal from a low split base. Split lids are easy to remove. Position and number of handles can vary.

Speaker Trunk

A Top - Hat trunk with a central divider, designed to house speaker cabinets. Position and number of handles can vary.

Plasma Trunk

Used for the most widely available Plasma screens and accessories. Low base to aid removal.

Shockmounted Rack

Rubber shock absorbing mounts fitted to an internal plywood inner rack ensure maximum equipment protection . Handle positions can vary to suit size.

Removable Plywood inner rack housed in a flight case.

Foam Suspended Rack

Inner plywood rack surrounded by polyethylene foam is an ideal choice for audio processing equipment. Handle positions can vary to suit size.

Similar to Rack but having a single lid. Finds many uses

Multi-pivoting top section for mixers. Single or twin lids, ideal for karaoke and DJ’s. Handle positions can vary to suit size.
